DEBUTANT INSTRUMENTALFOR the second day running Victoria's Sheffield Shield debutant Jayde Herrick played a key role as the Bushrangers snatched the ascendancy over South Australia at the MCG.SA suffered a spectacular lower-order collapse of 6-23 with Herrick snaring three wickets to be bowled out for 260 in its first innings, 85 runs short of Victoria's 345 total. The Bushrangers reached 0-17 in their second innings, an overall 102-run lead, when early second day stumps was called on Friday due to poor light, with Chris Rogers on four and Ryan Carters on eight.SA looked well-placed for most of the day, at one stage reaching 4-237, with Aiden Blizzard (59) and Graham Manou (23) at the crease, before their sudden slide, which included a slump of 3-0 in six balls.Herrick (3-68) and third-game quick Steven Gilmour (3-68) were the main destroyers.Herrick and Gilmour also put on a valuable 85-run last-wicket partnership on Friday.Cutting a striking figure bowling with his head completely shaved and sporting a large headband and tattoos on both elbows, Herrick was delighted with the start to his shield career."To get first innings points was a pretty good buzz for me today and to have a bit of a hit [on Thursday] and get a few away, unorthodox, but it was good, and to get a few wickets there towards the end was really pleasing," he said.18-YEAR-OLD GETS SHIELD TONMIKE Hussey made a low-profile return as West Australian teenager Marcus Harris scored his maiden Sheffield Shield century to put the Warriors in the box seat against Queensland at the WACA Ground.Harris, playing just his third first-class match, struck an unbeaten 133 to guide WA to 3-241 at stumps on day two in reply to Queensland's meek 250.Hussey spent 75 minutes at the crease but failed to make the most of a solid start in scoring 19 off 53 balls.
