Sa Builds Lead Over Tasmania

A combined effort by South Australia's bowlers helped the Redbacks to a healthy 183-run lead over Tasmania on day two of the Pura Cup cricket match here today.
The Tigers declared at 9-159 in their first innings in reply to SA's 316, handing the home side first innings points and setting the stage for an outright result.
Tasmanian bowler Damien Wright struck late in the day to claim the wicket of Redbacks opener David Fitzgerald, caught by Scott Kremerskothen for five, to put SA at 1-26 in the second innings.
At stumps Greg Blewett was not out on 18 and Shane Deitz was unbeaten on three.
Earlier today the Redbacks added 76 runs to their overnight score with Ben Johnson and Graham Manou sharing a 104-run partnership - each contributing half centuries to the Redbacks' first-innings scoreline.
With SA already missing three star bowlers - Jason Gillespie on international duties and Paul Wilson and Brad Young injured - Brett Swain, Mark Harrity, Mick Miller and Peter McIntyre did the job for the Redbacks in the second innings.
They conspired to keep the visitors well short of the target and took two wickets apiece in the process.
Swain made an early breakthrough, claiming the valuable wicket of Jamie Cox, caught by wicketkeeper Manou low to his right in the fourth over of the innings to send the Tigers to lunch at 1-19.
The SA paceman struck again in the first over after lunch, trapping Dene Hills lbw for 18.
Three overs later Andrew Dykes was out lbw to Harrity for nine and Michael DiVenuto was run out with a direct hit from Jeff Vaughan.
Spinner McIntyre was brought into the attack to immediate effect when Daniel Marsh tried to hit him over square leg and was clean bowled.
Kremerskothen (seven) followed when he sent a catch to Greg Blewett at first slip off the bowling of former Queensland quick Miller as the visitors crumbled to 6-70.
Shaun Young (50 not out) was the only Tasmanian batsman to offer real resistance as he top scored for his team.
But it was not enough to halt the Tigers' demise as the wickets continued to tumble after the tea break.
Harrity bowled Sean Clingeleffer (15) while a miserly McIntyre, who finished with 2-26 off 19 overs, including seven maidens, trapped David Saker (11) lbw.
Making his debut for SA, Miller chipped in with his second wicket when Wright was out, also lbw for 11. -- AAP vm/bar
