South Australia's new-ball bowlers teamed up to rip through the NSW batting and claim first innings points in the four-day cricket match at Adelaide Oval yesterday.
But the Blues fought back, thanks again to paceman Don Nash, who took two wickets late in the final session on day two.
At stumps, SA was 2-34 with David Fitzgerald not out 11 and Jamie Siddons on nine.
Within reach of the Redbacks' first-innings total of 253, the Blues collapsed, losing 5-28 to be all out for 248.
