Another seven-wicket haul by rookie NSW bowler Don Nash kept South Australia to a modest first innings total on day one of the four-day cricket match in Adelaide yesterday.

At stumps, the Blues were 1-57 in reply to SA's first innings 253, the not out batsmen Greg Mail (16) and Corey Richards (15).

Among a sea of fresh faces in the Blues side, Nash found himself in the spotlight as the visitors' number one strike bowler with Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee among six New South Welshmen in the national one-day squad.

But experience counted for little as Nash ripped through the SA top order and finished with 7-72 off 21 overs.
